Lean/Six Sigma Process Engineer
(Manufacturing Quality Engineer)
Position
Summary:
To drive process improvements and operations efficiency throughout the manufacturing process. Works with site leaders to identify and implement continuous improvement in all areas of the sites operations through the application of lean methodologies and the use of other (BEx) Business Excellence tools.
Reports to: Operations Efficiency Manager, Initiation Systems - North America

Essential Functions:
1. Demonstrate and becommitted to the pursuit ofachieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety leadership.
2. Ensure compliance with applicable HSE Performance Standards, objectives and as well as acts, and regulations.
3. Live and foster the IPL Corporate Values.
4. Increase site productivity, partnering with site management team, by implementing standard work, line balancing, and removing bottlenecks.
5. Establish baseline, develop measures/targets, and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
6. Align with Business Excellence in identifying and implementing a framework and strategy to reduce waste and improve quality, directly impacting the site costs.
7. Use technical know-how for making time studies, material/man/information flows, layouts, etc. for identifying improvements - lead and/or implement these improvements ensuring controls are in place for sustaining results.
8. Employ hands-on approach to data collection, analysis, recommendations of opportunities, and implementation - apply Lean and statistical tools for data-driven decisions.
9. Introduce innovative ideas and technologies and be a change agent to effectively implement and sustain.
10. Support compliance with ISO 9001-2008.
Decision Making Authority:
1. Production, Safety, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance and Regulatory compliance related.
Major Challenges:
1. Finding available time in a full production schedule to complete projects, PM's and maintenance actions, influencing changes to sustain.
Requirements:
Education:
BS Degree or higher in Engineering or related technical field (preferred).

Experience:
3 - 5 years minimum experience in manufacturing operations (Chemical or Energetic Materials environment preferred).
Technical:
Systems competency - MS Office and Minitab, or other similar systems.
SAP capability or knowledge desired.
Must satisfy the requirements for a Responsible Person as defined by the Bureau of Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Strong Problem Solving skills.
Competence in Lean Manufacturing and/or with Six Sigma.
Proven ability to lead LEAN manufacturing within an operation using various metrics and tools.
Must have a strong work ethic and the ability to inspire and engage employees with respect to continuous improvement and process changes.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Ability to wear and care for applicable personal protective equipment (such as safety glasses and shoes as required by site specific requirements.
Ability to work in various conditions and locations on site and at other Dyno Nobel locations. While working in this position there may be some travel involved to provide support for other sites or for training purposes.
Requires sitting, stooping, and kneeling, the use of hands and fingers, walking short distances and the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
